Brief Job Description

General Description:

Charlotte Country Club’s Manager in Development (MID) program provides unique hands-on experiences for postgraduates looking to pursue a career in club management. MID’s will build leadership skills starting in a front-line service role to understand the day-to-day operations and member interactions. As individuals progress, they will have the opportunity to shadow managers to gain insights into decision making and leadership. Gradually taking on more responsibility, with demonstrated readiness, our goal is for the MID’s to lead the service team in multiple food and beverage outlets. The opportunity for continued employment after successful completion of the MID program will be based on business needs, performance, and open position requirements.

Essential Functions:

The MID will experience all aspects of the Club’s food and beverage operations, including A la Carte dining, Banquet event operations, and the Pool Snack Bar operations.

Mentor style programming includes:

  • An individualized curriculum of on the floor training and curiosity driven education, based upon personal goals and interests
  • Weekly one on one meetings with an assigned Assistant Clubhouse Manager
  • Reflection on weekly takeaways and challenges
  • Carolinas Chapter CMAA education
  • Area club tours & networking
  • Collaboration with other leaders around the Club

Candidate Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, honest, respectful, dedicated, caring, positive attitude, and enthusiastic
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-end, professional environment
  • Desire to make memorable member experiences
  • Indoor and outdoor – ability to tolerate all seasonal weather conditions.

Educational Requirements

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality or in a related field
  • 2 years of prior club and/or food and beverage experience preferred
