Job Description
Cuscowilla is seeking a strategic, member-first Executive Chef to lead and elevate the Club’s culinary vision, daily dining operations, and overall food & beverage experience.
This role exists to ensure that every culinary touchpoint - whether a family dinner, a major golf tournament, a wine event, or a holiday celebration - reflects consistency, creativity, and excellence. As the leader of the kitchen team, the Executive Chef serves as both visionary and steady operator, translating the Club’s standards and long-term goals into memorable dining experiences.
The Executive Chef will partner closely with the Director of Culinary and senior leadership to cultivate a strong team culture rooted in professionalism, accountability, mentorship, and pride. The role requires a balance of creativity and operational discipline, ensuring that culinary innovation is supported by sound systems, financial stewardship, and executional consistency.
This is not a transactional role. It is relational, developmental, and standards-driven - focused on elevating the experience of dining at Cuscowilla while building a cohesive, high-performing culinary team.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to
- Lead daily kitchen operations with consistency, efficiency, and professionalism.
- Execute high-volume tournaments, member events, and club functions with precision and composure.
- Develop seasonal menus that balance elevated club dining with approachable, family-friendly offerings.
- Maintain strong cost controls for food, labor, purchasing, and inventory.
- Recruit, mentor, and retain a cohesive culinary team.
- Uphold the highest standards of sanitation, quality, and presentation.
Candidate Qualifications
- Culinary degree or equivalent professional training preferred
- 5+ years of progressive culinary leadership experience, ideally within private club, resort, or high-end hospitality environments
- Proven experience leading tournament-heavy and event-driven operations
- Strong financial acumen including food cost control and labor management
- Exceptional leadership presence with the ability to mentor and inspire
- High emotional intelligence, discretion, and sound judgment
- Strong organizational skills and systems thinking
- Polished, professional presence with a hospitality-first mindset
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays in alignment with Club events and peak seasons
