Jeff Havens is the only business growth expert who provides serious solutions in a seriously funny way. He has an uncanny ability to provide actionable answers to today’s business challenges in a way that is undeniably entertaining and impactful. But even more than that, Jeff has a unique ability to simplify seemingly complex problems, providing you with a fresh perspective, one that runs counter to the conventional wisdom of the business world. He’ll show you that we’re not actually creating a completely new type of person every 15 years, that being innovative is not something only a few special people know how to do, and that both exceptional leadership and exceptional customer experiences are built on surprisingly slender foundations. You will leave Jeff’s keynotes refreshed, relaxed, happy, and more confident than ever that you are prepared for the road ahead.

This social event is designed to give students the chance to network with each other at the start of their Conference experience. California State Polytechnic University and Kent State University Student Chapters will be working together as this year’s student chapter hosts for the event and will welcome all students and facilitate the planned icebreaker.

Attend the official World Conference kick off to participate and be party to the business of your professional Association. Meet the candidates for the 2022 CMAA Board of Directors during the Candidates’ Forum. Honor and recognize the professional development achievements of CMAA members, including the 2021 Certified Club Managers, Certified Chief Executives, and Master Club Managers, and be present for the unveiling of the 2021 class of CMAA Fellows. President & CEO Jeff Morgan, FASAE, CAE, will highlight key developments in the annual State of the Association address.

Robyn Benincasa gives individuals and organizations the tools they need to inspire themselves and one another to their greatest heights and across their most challenging finish lines. For the last 20 years, she and her teammates have been competing at the front of the pack in the most unique and compelling classrooms on earth--The jungles of Borneo, the Himalayan peaks of Tibet, the rivers of Fiji, the rainforests of Ecuador and the desert of Namibia, studying the good, the bad, and the not-so-pretty in Extreme Teamwork. It is through these harrowing, life affirming and often hilarious experiences in the world's most grueling challenges that she has emerged with her truly unique perspective on what it takes to build the kind of world-class teams that succeed against all odds, that triumph in the face of adversity and that win as one in times of great challenge and change.

Robyn’s multi-faceted experience—as a 20+ year veteran San Diego firefighter, a World Champion Adventure Racer, a 2014 CNN Hero, a Guinness World Record Endurance Kayaker, and a best-selling author—inspires people to grab life with one hand, grab their teammates with the other, and to achieve audacious goals that they could never accomplish alone. Grab hold of your seats, Robyn’s incredible stories and breathtaking footage of extreme teams in action is an invigorating thrill ride that will leave you energized.

Esteemed leaders of CMAA and members of the National staff will join students at this achievement lunch. Chapter and individual achievements will be showcased during the awards presentation. Winners of the Student Chapter of the Year and Joe Perdue Scholarship recipients will be recognized.

The Future of Work Begins with Conscious Leadership Today
Whisperings about the future of work have developed into full-fledged conversations. Still, we haven’t yet arrived at a consensus on what exactly the future of work entails and how leaders can position their organizations and their people for success during such a transformative period in the workplace and beyond. Bringing a holistic perspective from inside some of the world’s leading organizations, Ginny Clarke shares her sought-after insights and wisdom on the ways conscious, effective leaders can get the best out of their people and, in turn, create high-performing teams for the future.

In this talk, she outlines the importance of beginning with organizational health when guiding your workforce into the future—paying special attention to how to assess, attract, and hire the best talent, and establish a culture rooted in accountability, trust, integrity, and inclusion. Ginny goes beyond ideas and, instead, offers leaders practical tactics and processes for optimizing talent, resources, productivity, and profitability to create a disruption proof workplace that is equipped for the long run.

Presented in Partnership with Club Car, a CMAA Business Partner
Honor the achievements of CMAA Members and Chapters at the Awards Breakfast, which celebrates and recognizes the individuals and Chapters who strive to make a difference in the CMAA community. Awards will be presented to:

  • the 2021 Club Executive of the Year;
  • new inductees to the 25-Year Club;
  • The Club Foundation’s 2021 Willmoore H. Kendall scholarship recipients;
  • the Idea Fair, which showcases the best club-tested ideas submitted by CMAA member-managed clubs;
  • Student Chapter award winners;
  • top Chapter earners in the New Member Recruitment Contest; and
  • the coveted Chapter of the Year Award

After the awards presentations, hear from basketball legend and one of sports’ most recognizable and beloved figures, Bill Walton. His success on the court is well-documented: the nation’s top college basketball star at UCLA under legendary coach John Wooden, he then played for two NBA Championship teams – the Portland Trail Blazers and Boston Celtics. But Bill’s nightmarish challenges off the court are less known. He stuttered so badly he couldn’t say a simple “thank you” until he was 28 years old. And a foot disorder led to 39 surgeries on his feet, legs, and back – keeping him sidelined over half of his NBA career. Armed with grit and a positive outlook, Bill improbably overcame it all. Don’t miss hearing Bill Walton’s one-of-a-kind presentation.

*Please note: A ticket is required for entry to this event. This event is ticketed separately from all-inclusive registration categories (Full, Education-Only) and capacity is limited to 700 attendees.
